Abstract:Sap-feeding insects cause significant yield losses to the world’s crops, these insects feed using syringe-like mouthparts and electrophysiology can be used to compare feeding behaviour on susceptible and resistant plants to identify the mechanistic processes behind resistant phenotypes.
