“…Given the relevance in public health of both events CMD and periodontitis, the findings of the present study contribute to a better understanding of this relationship, since CMD is associated with the presence of several diseases, such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. In relation to periodontitis, it has a negative impact on quality of life and general well‐being, influencing on the overall health status of individuals, revealing the importance of broadening public actions targeting mental health, which seems to be related to oral health. Additionally, the high frequency of both health problems in the studied sample is an important epidemiological finding.…”
