Common effect of chemical and external pressures on the magnetic properties ofRCoPO (R=La,Pr,Nd,Sm).

Abstract: The direct correspondence between Co band ferromagnetism and structural parameters is investigated in the pnictide oxides RCoPO for different rare-earth ions (R = La, Pr, Nd, Sm) by means of muon-spin spectroscopy and ab-initio calculations, complementing our results published previously [G. Prando et al., Phys. Rev. B 87, 064401 (2013)]. Both the transition temperature to the ferromagnetic phase T C and the volume of the crystallographic unit cell V are found to be conveniently tuned by the R ionic radius and… Show more

“…where p fast/slow and Λ fast/slow are the relative weights and relaxation rates of muons implanted in two inequivalent sites, namely close to the SmO and to the FeAs planes. 20,[23][24][25][26][27] The different relaxation rates reflect the different dipolar fields created by the Sm 3+ moments at the two muon sites. LF data were fitted by keeping the p fast /p slow ratio fixed.…”
