Addi tion of RDX and IHMX in double base matrix shows relatively low burn rates and high pressure index values. Further, the bum rate of this class of propellants enhances in tpe presence of energetic binders/plasticisers like glycidyl azide I polymer.tThis paffr also disc~sses the combustion mechanism ofHMX/RDX-based DB propellants, especially in the presence of catalytic sal~. As scanty data is available on extruded nitrarnine DB propellants, further woĩ s needed in the field of form~~ation as wet! as evaluation with a view to generate exhaustive data.
