Combined injury of femoral artery and femoral nerve after blunt trauma to the proximal femur: A case report

Abstract: Highlights Combined femoral arterial and nerve injury is rare in proximal femur fracture cases. As far as for our knowledge it is the first to be reported. We report a 42-year-old diagnosed with a left subtrochanteric femur fracture. Although promptly taken to surgery, leg amputation was necessary a week later. Blunt femoral injuries are associated with high morbidity and mortality rates.
