Combined injury of femoral artery and femoral nerve after blunt trauma to the proximal femur: A case report

Abstract

Highlights Combined femoral arterial and nerve injury is rare in proximal femur fracture cases. As far as for our knowledge it is the first to be reported. We report a 42-year-old diagnosed with a left subtrochanteric femur fracture. Although promptly taken to surgery, leg amputation was necessary a week later. Blunt femoral injuries are associated with high morbidity and mortality rates.
