Combined Effects of Thermophoresis and Chemical Reaction on Magnetohydrodynamics Mixed Convection Flow

Abstract: The steady two-dimensional MHD mixed convective heat and mass transfer flow of a viscous incompressible electrically conducting second grade fluid past a semi-infinite stretching sheet in the presence of thermal radiation with chemical reaction and thermophoresis is analyzed numerically. Similarity solutions for the transformed governing equations are obtained and the reduced equations are then solved numerically using symbolic software MATHEMATICA. Favorable comparison with previously published work is perfor… Show more

“…Jang et al [27] discussed the natural convection in fluid/porous region heated from below with conductive partition. Combined effects of thermophoresis and chemical reaction on magnetohydrodynamic mixed convection flow has been discussed by Kundu et al [28]. Haghighi and Rahimi [29] have analyzed the mixed convection heat transfer and transient motion of a viscous incompressible fluid in an annulus between two vertical eccentric spheres maintained at different surface temperature and rotating about a common axis with different angular velocities.…”

“…The set of the coupled ordinary differential equations (12)(13)(14) with their boundary conditions (15a) -(15b) is highly nonlinear and cannot be solved analytically. Before employing appropriate numerical method, this system in the form of a two point boundary value problem was transformed easily to a set of first order ODEs.…”

“…Khisan and Jaghada [11] analyze the combined MHD with radiation and heat source while with chemical reaction by Mondal et al [12]. Working with a nanofluid, Kundu et al [13] and Muhaimen et al [14] studied again in the presence of the thermophoresis, the MHD flow with chemical reaction in different geometrical systems. Large variable suction, MHD and thermal radiation are the focused parameters on the paper of Singh et al [15].…”
