Combined Conformal Strongly-Coupled Magnetic Resonance for Efficient Wireless Power Transfer

Abstract: This paper proposes a hybrid circuit between a conformal strongly-coupled magnetic resonance (CSCMR) and a strongly-coupled magnetic resonance (SCMR), for better wireless power transmission (WPT). This combination promises to enhance the flexibility of the proposed four-loop WPT system. The maximum efficiency at various distances is achieved by combining coupling-matching between the source and transmitting coils along with the coupling factor between the transmitting and receiving coils. Furthermore, the dist… Show more

“…In this way, the receiver, which may have more restrictions for the adjustment, do not require any control system. This restriction is also considered in [27], where K DT is varied to adapt to the changes on the position between the transmitter and the receiver. Specifically, the driver loop is selected among a set of two coils and connected to the circuit accordingly.…”

“…Conformal solutions constitute a particular case of circular coils in which the transmitter coil is in the same plane than the driver loop so that the dimensions of the transmitter equipment is reduced [27,28]. A more popular approach for conformal implementations searches the compact structure in the receiver, which may have more restrictions about the place to occupy.…”

“…This varying magnetic field couples the coil to another coil, enabling wireless power transfer. Magnetic resonance, which uses more than two coils, is based on the same principle [6]. IWPT technology is being applied to a broad range of applications [7].…”

“…[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8] Different from traditional energy transfer, WPT has a promising future in a wide range of applications as it is able to deliver electrical energy wirelessly without direct cable connections. In recent years, wireless power transfer (WPT) has aroused a great deal of attention.…”
