“…Enjarlis (2014) [18] studied also the application of coagulation activity on advanced oxidation process using polyaluminium chloride (PAC) and Alum as a coagulant showed the optimization of the use of coagulant and coagulation-flocculation processes with integration of ozonation; the measured parameters were TSS, pH, odor, color, and COD. The removal percentage of chemical oxygen demand was increased from 7 to 41 as pH increases from 5 to 9 while the current study also showed removal percentage of total dissolved oxygen (TDO) from the raw water [19]. When we conclude this finding, cactus powder has consistency potential in turbidity removal which implies that cactus can serve as a coagulant in water treatment.…”

“…The coagulation activity of cactus was also affected by the factors mentioned. Coagulation with chitosan-bentonite successfully removed the turbidity with efficiency of 97%, chitosan-bentonite ratio of 30 : 70, concentration of 1000 mg/L (300 mg : 700 mg in 1 liter of raw water), optimal pH of 7.3, and 30 minutes of mixing time during flocculation, while the coagulation activity with cactus removal of turbidity from turbid water sample increased with dosage from 23.9% to 54% and 8 Journal of Applied Chemistry pH from 7.33 to 7.57 from 0.50 to 3.50 g which indicates that cactus powder can serve as a natural coagulant like chitosan-bentonite [18,19]. “…Several researchers, over time, have established that pH, conductivity, total dissolved solids (TDS), dissolved Ismail et al, 2012;Ademoroti, 1996). As shown in Table 1, the parameters of the substrates of the three macrophytes used in this work are observed to be moderate.…”

“…In the study of phenolic water flocculation with the use of Extrafloc P70 at a dosage of 4 mg/dm 3 , we applied JarTest method [13], according to which the stirring rate was 350 rpm during first 60 s, and 50−60 rpm within the next 20 minutes. After that, we stirred the purified wastewater again, together with a sediment, in a mode of 350 rpm for 15 s and poured it into a glass container with a height of 25 cm, which was located in a thermostat.…”
