Abstract:The Least Cost Influence Problem is a combinatorial optimization problem that appears in the context of social networks. The objective is to give incentives to individuals of a network, such that some information spreads to a desired fraction of the network at minimum cost. We introduce a problemdependent algorithm in a branch-and-bound scheme to compute a dual bound for this problem. The idea is to exploit the connectivity properties of sub-graphs of the input graph associated with each node of the branchand-… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
