Abstract: Background: Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) is a clinically heterogenous disease of hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) characterized by ineffective hematopoiesis, uni/multi-lineage dysplasia and a high tendency to transform into acute myeloid leukemia.
