Malic acid, as well as other acids, can be determined by fractionation of ion exchange resins in the acid form (5,15,20) or by partition chromatography on silica gel columns (4,8,13,14) and subsequent analysis of the fractions. These methods have the advantage of simultaneous analyses for a number of acids, but some require considerable time for each determination, and others lack the desired accuracy and precision.…”
