Color Flow Imaging in Cardiomyopathies: Observations and Implications

Abstract: Summary Color flow imaging provides useful hemodynamic insight into the altered pathophysiology of cardiomyopathies. The abnormal flow patterns delineated by flow imaging often cannot be appreciated by conventional Doppler examination. Color flow imaging has become an essential component of a complete noninvasive anatomical, hemodynamic, and pathophysiological evaluation of the cardiomypathies.
