Color dipole predictions for the exclusive vector meson photoproduction in pp , pPb , and PbPb collisions at run 2 LHC energies

Abstract: In this paper we present a comprehensive analysis of exclusive vector meson photoproduction in pp, pP b and P bP b collisions at Run 2 LHC energies using the Color Dipole formalism. The rapidity distributions and total cross sections for the ρ, φ, J/Ψ, Ψ(2S) and Υ production are estimated considering the more recent phenomenological models for the dipole -proton scattering amplitude, which are based on the Color Glass Condensate formalism and are able to describe the inclusive and exclusive ep HERA data. “…There would be an additional uncertainty related to the vector meson wave function (for details on the size of the related uncertainty, see, e.g., Ref. [6]). At central rapidity, one predicts explicitly dσ coh =dyðy ¼ 0Þ ¼ 148.3 AE 10.3 mb and dσ coh = dyðy ¼ 0Þ ¼ 30.5 AE 1.8 mb for ρ and ϕ, respectively.…”

“…In addition the resonant φ(1020) and non-resonant (Drell-Söding) K + K − photoproduction mechanisms will be discussed. So far the cross sections for the exclusive pp → ppφ(1020) reaction were calculated within a pQCD k t -factorization approach [41], and in a color dipole approach [42,43].…”
