Colonial mimesis and animal reproduction: Karakul sheep in Southwestern Angola

Abstract: Este texto explora a relação entre reprodução de colonos portugueses e reprodução de carneiros caracul no Sul de Angola. Segue-se a pista dos caraculos, desde o Sudoeste Africano sob ocupação alemã até ao deserto de Moçâmedes, usando-se o conceito de mimese para dar conta de práticas coloniais do Terceiro Império.
