Colloidal Metal Oxide Nanoparticles Prepared by Laser Ablation Technique and Their Antibacterial Test

Abstract: In this article we report the production of metal oxide (TiFe2O4, ZnFe2O4) nanoparticles by pulsed laser ablation technique in a liquid environment. We used nanosecond Nd: YAG laser systems working at 532 nm and 1064 nm of wavelength and the energy of the laser beam was kept constant at 80 mJ. Absorbance spectra, surface plasmon resonance, optical band-gap, and nanoparticle morphology were investigated using ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and scanning… Show more

“…Hydroxyl groups present in the gum Moringa reduced the silver and zinc. Synthesized nanoparticles exhibited absorption band in the range of 220–300 nm, a good Plasmon resonance band (PRB) of silver and Zinc NPs [ 24 ]. Absence of any peak at around 330nm and 550nm confirm the absence of nanoparticles aggregation [ 25 ].…”

“…Figure 1 shows the optical adsorption spectra of synthesized iron oxide nanoparticles at neutral pH. The surface plasmon resonance (SPR) of SPIONs was observed as a broad peak in the UV region (250 nm-300 nm) which signifies the characteristic adsorption spectral range of iron oxide nanoparticles [36]. The adsorption maxima for the synthesized particles were recorded at 294 nm.…”
