Abstract:The lineshapes of collision-induced absorption (CIA) at room temperature are computed quantum mechanically for gaseous binary mixtures of helium with xenon using theoretical induced dipole moment and interatomic potentials. Empirical and literature models of the induced dipole moments which reproduce the experimental spectra and the first few spectral moments are given. Good agreement between the computed and experimental lineshapes of absorption is obtained when the potential parameters which are fitted well … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
