“…Relationships are identified using qualitative analysis with its scope for rich description, and typically also involve some type of quantitative analysis, on occasion using multivariate techniques (Kaplan and Kearney, 1997). Attributing spatial analogies to conceptual domains has been criticised by some authors (Koltko‐Rivera, 2005). Accordingly, in this instance, care was taken not to overstate the importance of structural dimensions of conceptually‐based cognitive maps.…”

“…In the literature, basic assumptions are described, for example, in terms of the interpersonal relationships that they address, i.e. what forms of relationship a person prefers (Koltko‐Rivera, 2000). The results of this study may shed some light on the type of interpersonal relationships that hospitality employees would prefer to use with guests.…”

“…In addition to defining what goals one can seek in life, basic assumptions define what goals one should pursue. Basic assumptions also define proper or improper types of behaviour and relationships (Koltko‐Rivera, 2000). In the organisational context, employees' basic assumptions constitute a company's “theory of the business”: they shape employees' behaviour, influence decisions about proper or improper behaviour, and define what the management considers as meaningful results (Drucker, 2006).…”

“…This kind of articulation of the concept of worldview is motivated when its categories are formulated in scales to be tested. Proposals include, among others, the Worldview Assessment Instrument with 10 variables and 42 items (Koltko-Rivera, 2000, the Worldview Analysis Scale (Obasi, 2002), the Scale to Assess World View (Ibrahim & Owen, 1994) the Integrative Worldview Framework (Hedlund-de Witt, 2012), or the Cultural Worldview Scale (Choi et al, 2007). As an example, since it is shorter in items than the Worldview Assessment Instrument, the Scale to Assess World View (Ibrahim & Owen, 1994) identified anthropology, human nature (good, bad, or a combination), social relationships (lineal-hierarchical, collateral-mutual, or individualistic), nature (harmony, control, or power), time (past, present, or future), and activity (being, being-in-becoming, doing) as components.…”
