Collaborative memetic agents for enabling semantic interoperability

Abstract: Semantic interoperability represents the ability of two or more systems to automatically interpret the information exchanged meaningfully in order to produce useful results. Currently, the best recognized technology for achieving a specification of meaning is represented by ontologies. However, the variety of ways that a domain can be conceptualized results in the creation of different ontologies with discrepancies and heterogeneities. As a consequence, an ontology alignment process is necessary for bridging t… Show more

“…This architecture is based on agents and web services, and its main goal is to provide a secure way to deliver integrated services to clients (citizens, businesses or public administration). Acampora [ 24 ] used an approach based on the integration of collaborative agents and mimetic algorithms to solve interoperability problems. Contreras presents Component Agent Platform based on NET (CAPNET) [ 25 ], an agent-based platform that enables the creation of a distributed multi-agent system with mobile agents, ensuring its communication and cooperation.…”
