Abstract:The differential cross sections for cold neutron scattering in mosaic deuterium crystals have been calculated for various target temperatures. The theoretical results are compared with the recent experimental data for the neutron wavelengths λ ≈ 1-9 Å. It is shown that the structures of observed Bragg peaks can be explained by the mosaic spread of about 3 • and contributions from a limited number of crystal orientations. Such a crystal structure should be also taken into account in ultracold neutron upscatteri… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
