Cold Adaptation and the Anaesthetic Requirement for Cyclopropane in Rats

Abstract: The effect of cold adaptation at 4 degrees C on cyclopropane MAC was studied in 10 Wistar rats over a 16-week period. Compared with a similar control group (normally adapted), there was a significant decrease in weight gain and a significant increase in anaesthetic requirement in the cold-adapted rats.
