Abstract:La colapsoterapia es una técnica usada para obliterar lesiones cavernomatosas por destrucción pulmonar como secuelas de infecciones por tuberculosis. Fue descrita inicialmente en 1882 y se utilizaron diversos materiales como tejido adiposo y óseo, mezcla de varias parafinas y esferas de polimetilmetacrilato (esferas de Lucite), que causaron complicaciones importantes.
