Cognitive Radio-Assisted NOMA Broadcasting for 5G Cellular V2X Communications: Model of Roadside Unit Selection and SWIPT

Abstract: The outage performance is a significant problem to implement the Cognitive Radio (CR) paradigm in the Vehicle to Everything (V2X) networks. Recently, more interest has focused on Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) in wireless-powered communication. In the conventional CR-enabled V2X-NOMA network, spectrum sensing and limited battery capacity at the Roadside Unit (RSU) may cause serious outage performance. In this study, RSU selection scheme is adopted. This paper presents an interesting model of a system wi… Show more

“…The objective was to maximize the sum-rate through efficient trajectory planning and power control. The authors of [30] derived exact expressions for outage probability in cognitive-based V2X communications. They adopted an efficient RSU selection scheme and considered the constraint of transmit power.…”

“…There are discussions on the existing deployment of SS and CR and the steps to allow efficient 5G progress for a complete examination. Dinh-Thuan Do et al [4] showed off a unique system design that combined the benefits of both a NOMA and CR network with the Simultaneous Wireless Information and Power Transfer technology. Downlink spectrum sensing and wireless energy harvesting are the primary functions of a radio spectrum unit (RSU).…”

“…Recently, various works have been done on the performance analysis of NOMA-enabled vehicular networks. For example, the authors of [19] designed a system of cognitive radio with simultaneous wireless information and power transfer for NOMA-enabled vehicular networks. Their objective was to obtained the exact expression for outage probability of vehicles.…”
