“…Their study demonstrates that repeated daily HBO sessions, 5 days per week, 80 min with 100% at 2 ATA, can enhance memory performance. The improved memory correlated with enhanced functional connectivity in the left hippocampus, right inferior frontal and lingual gyri as demonstrated by fMRI analysis (Yu et al, 2015 ). In the current study, the immediate effect of a single HBO environment exposure was evaluated in healthy volunteers.…”

“…Many studies have confirmed that environments low in oxygen levels have a negative effect on performing single and multiple tasks (Shukitt-Hale et al, 1998 ; Lieberman et al, 2005 ). A study performed by Yu et al evaluated the effect of repeated exposure to HBO treatment for healthy individuals (Yu et al, 2015 ). Their study demonstrates that repeated daily HBO sessions, 5 days per week, 80 min with 100% at 2 ATA, can enhance memory performance.…”

“…The P value that indicated significance with a family-wise error-corrected threshold was set at less than .05. We applied an exploratory stepwise hierarchical multiple regression (23,24) to analyze the relationships between abnormal FA values in WM tracts with disease duration, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, self-rating anxiety scale, and self-rating depression scale scores. We took the FA value of significant regions between primary insomnia and HC participants as the dependent variable and disease duration, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, self-rating anxiety scale, and self-rating depression scale scores as independent predictor variables, and we used the multiple correlation coefficients to indicate how well the clinical variables for every participant could account for the abnormal FA values.…”

“…These findings suggest that interventions focus only on reduction of peripheral cortisol levels may not be sufficient to restore a normal level of ReHo activity in LH, which was found to be relatively low in people with suicide attempts 37 or those with higher trait anxiety 38 . On the other hand, increased ReHo of LH has been associated with better cognitive function 39 , implying interventions that could enhance awareness and reduce cortisol levels at the same time might be useful for people with mild cognitive impairment who might be capable of practicing meditation. This requires future research in a randomized controlled trial setting with larger sample size to confirm.…”
