Coffee consumption and propensity to experience aggressive feelings in provoking and frustrating situations

Abstract: The present study focused on examining whether coffee intake is related to the intensity of aggressive feelings in reaction to various provoking or frustrating situations, along with consideration of sex and culture. “…The STAR scale has been available for research since 2006. This instrument has been examined with respect to its use for specific populations and its methodological and psychometric properties (examples are: Zajenkowska et al, 2014; Zajenkowska, Jankowski, et al, 2015; Mylonas et al, 2017); one common denominator in these three specific studies is their cross-cultural and/or cultural approach. “…Much of the work using STAR has had a cross-cultural emphasis. For example, Zajenkowska, Jankowski, et al (2015) examined correlates of STAR in a Polish and a Greek sample. The study’s emphasis on coffee consumption and propensity to experience aggressive feelings under situational triggers bolstered evidence of validity and allowed theoretical comparisons across the two countries with respect to possible antecedents of situationally triggered aggression.…”
