Coexistence Management in Wireless Networks-A Survey

Abstract: The rapid proliferation of wireless networks poses a great challenge of effective coexistence management amongst a plethora of wireless communication protocol users that are co-located and contending for the ever scarce spectrum available. For effective spectrum utilization and optimum performance of existing wireless networks and for the realization of new wireless networks, coexistence management of the wireless spectrum is the key to ensure the performance of multiple wireless networks in close proximity. “…The procedural 5G core network [23] and the organic 6G [24] refactor NFs to a procedure-based model and manage UE context information in a single repository to reduce communication between NFs and improve durability. Magma, which is an open source software for building the mobile core network, terminated the RAN-specific protocols at access gateways close to the radio and adopted Remote Procedure Call (RPC) communication between RAN and core components to reduce the introduction and operational costs [25].…”
