Abstract: Maternal mitochondria provide energy to the embryo through oxidative phosphorylation before blastocyst implantation, where intracellular energy is mainly supplied by glycolysis. Thus, it is obvious that mitochondria play a crucial role in providing energy for embryogenesis.
