Coding Artificial Magnetic Conductor Ground and Their Application to High‐Gain, Wideband Radar Cross‐Section Reduction of a 2×2 Antenna Array

Abstract: A new technique is proposed for designing a low‐scattering 2 × 2 antenna array using strategic coding metasurface ground for wideband bistatic and monostatic backscattered energy level reduction. Two various artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) units cells are organized like a chessboard to obtain an effective 180° ± 37° reflection phase difference over a broadband frequency range. The low‐backscattering microstrip antenna array is achieved based on the destructive interference theory and diffusion property of … Show more

“…A two-dimensional multi segment wing with hinged flaps under the spoiler is built (Liu et al, 2021;LV. et al, 2020;Li, 2019;Saleem and Saifullah, 2021;Ye et al, 2018), and the relevant aerodynamic characteristics are studied by using computational fluid dynamics method. Corner reflectors will be formed between the open drag plate and the fuselage surface, and the multiple scattering characteristics here are difficult points worth discussing.…”

“…The architecture utilized the thin and nonabsorbed backscattered reducer layers. [11][12][13][14][15] Moreover, in contrast to perfect electric conductor (PEC), backscattering could be reduced by merging artificial magnetic conductors (AMCs) into a planar chessboard-like structure. Contrarily, it appears that the backscattered reduction range of these approaches' typical structures is constrained.…”

“…Polarization, one of the most basic characteristics of electromagnetic (EM) waves, refers to the oscillation direction of the electric field in the plane perpendicular to the propagation direction. [1][2][3] The polarization converter can manipulate various polarization states, which have important applications in satellite communication, [4,5] EM stealth, [6,7] antenna design, and beam steering. [8] Conventional polarization manipulation mainly uses natural materials such as twisted nematic liquid crystals by utilizing the Faraday effect.…”
