Recently, many SIW antennas have been proposed,4–10 but none attains the idea to increase the cell coverage in 2 directions. The main purpose of this article is to propose a 4‐by‐4 SIW slot array antenna and to demonstrate both computationally and experimentally its advantages, including compact size, broad impedance‐matching bandwidth, wide radiation pattern, small gain variation, and high radiation efficiency in both antenna sides, like an omnidirectional antenna.…”
