Abstract

Bulli. On the purpose of revealing the function and usage in children's theatre, the usage of music has been examined under different titles such as "Entrance Song, Introducing Character, Indicating The Situation, Creating Atmosphere, Expressing Emotions and Final Song". Findings obtained from sample texts have shown that music has a very important function in children's plays and in general it is used by taking into consideration of the chosen titles such as perception levels of children, their attention span and their ability to follow the story and thinking and it has come into sight that music is accepted as a part of the whole rather than an element in children's' plays.
