Cobalt, rhodium and iridium

Abstract

This chapter provides a selective review of the literature for 2006 on the chemistry of the Group 9 elements. HighlightsThe year 2006 has witnessed some remarkable work in the field of Co, Rh and Ir chemistry. Some notable highlights include the synthesis and characterisation of novel Rh(I) complexes that resemble gyroscopes, 17 new Ir(I) catalysts for alkane dehydrogenations, 64 crystal engineering using organometallic Rh(I) complexes 32a and Rh based anticancer drugs. 33 NHC complexes of Rh and Ir continued to receive much attention during this year.
