“…MILs derivatives, namely MIL‐53(Al), MIL‐68(Al), MIL‐100(Al), MIL‐100(Fe), MIL‐101(Cr), and MIL‐125(Ti) based MMMs will be comprehensively discussed in this section. [ 1,38–40,67,68,70–75 ] MIL‐53(Al) consists of aluminium clusters and a terephthalate‐based linker. It has diamond shape pore apertures that contribute to large pore volume and high surface area.…”

“…reported that NH 2 ‐MIL‐53(Al)/6FDA‐ODA (6FDA: 4,4′‐(hexafluoroisopropylidene) diphthalic anhydride, ODA: 4,4′‐oxydianiline) MMMs prepared by incorporating MOFs during the synthesis of the polyimide possessed better interfacial interactions than the MMMs prepared by the conventional solution mixing method ( Figure a). [ 71 ] The improvement in interfacial compatibility due to the hydrogen bonding led to better thermal and mechanical properties, and the SEM images showed no particles agglomeration in the membrane (Figure 5c). The enhancement in CO 2 /CH 4 mixed gas selectivity in the MMMs prepared by the new method was 27% higher than the MMMs prepared by the solution mixing.…”

“…However, gas separation technology based on polymer membranes has encountered some challenges while developing at a high speed, for instance poor solubility in film‐forming process, difficulty in obtaining high purity gas and limited thermal and chemical stability 17,18 . In addition, the Robeson upper bound relationship indicates that the gas permeability and selectivity of polymer membranes have a mutually restrictive “trade‐off” relationship 19,20 . For membranes with high permeability coefficient, the selection coefficient is low, and vice versa 4,19,21 .…”
