“…According to the observed characteristics, the corrosion resistance of carbon steel decreases constantly and adsorption-diffusion processes are observed. This may be due to absorption of intermediate species (FeOH) derived from the hydrolysis of iron, or due to adsorption of the water-soluble fractions (WSF's) of the diesel [9,11,36]. Fig.…”

“…However, at lower frequency values, the presence of a new capacitive-like semicircle was evident. Its lower capacitance could be attributed to adsorption phenomena of intermediate species as FeOH due to the hydrolysis of Fe during the metal dissolution process [24] or to the presence of the watersoluble fractions (WSFs) of the oil phase, which can be adsorbed on the steel surface thereby reducing the corrosion rate, besides affecting the mass transfer processes [23]. Figure 7 shows the Bode plots for carbon steel exposed in the CO 2 -saturated (3% NaCl + 10% diesel) emulsion with 25 ppm of stearic amide as inhibitor at 50 ∘ C. In the high frequency range, as time elapses, it is observed that the plateau region begins to form at higher frequencies than 10,000 Hz.…”

“…It can be seen that all the impedance spectra exhibit a single semicircle at high frequency, which can be attributed to the corrosion of X70 steel mainly controlled by charge transfer process in acid solution . The diameter of the Nyquist diagram exhibited larger and similar after the addition of the copolymer, which indicated that the dissolution of X70 metal in H 2 SO 4 shows similar mechanism in the absence and presence of the copolymer .…”
