“…The complete absence of oxygen required during the pyrolysis process was ensured by supplying the furnace with a constant nitrogen flowrate of 60 mL/min. The constant heating rates selected to increase the temperature during pyrolysis were10,13,16,19,22,25,30,35, and 40 K/min. According to Soria-Verdugo et al[84], the use of nine different TGA pyrolysis curves, obtained at nine different heating rates, provides accurate values for the kinetic parameters of the pyrolysis process, i.e., the activation energy E and the pre-exponential factor A.…”

“…The maximum release rate for CH 4 was located at about 450 C. Previous research found that the degradation of long-chain fatty acids at lipid fraction was the major source of CH 4 [48]. Additionally, the pyrolysis of heterocyclic aromatic compounds, such as indoles, pyrroles and pyridines also lead to CeH stretch.…”

“…In principle, energy policy promotes the use of biomass and locally generated waste as fuel to support the carbon economy (Otero et al, 2007). Previous researchers (Peng et al, 2015a) found a synergistic interaction between microalgae and TDS in co-combustion, which could avoid the drawbacks of each fuel and improve their combustion performance. The co-combustion of TDS with coal, under appropriate control, may be a secure method, and it may also generate profits through energy recovery.…”

“…Because of the limited knowledge of the combustion and pyrolysis characteristics of TDS, the objective of this work was to experimentally quantify the impact of different atmospheres (N 2 /O 2 ,C O 2 /O 2 , and N 2 /CO 2 ) for TDS. Although the cocombustion and co-pyrolysis of TDS with microalgae has been studied to some extent (Peng et al, 2015a;Peng et al, 2015b), coal will still make a great contribution to China's economic growth in the long term. Thus, it is necessary to study the combustion characteristics of the blends of TDS and coal under different sludge weight percentages, after which the kinetics parameters were calculated to give an appraisal of the cocombustion of coal with TDS.…”
