Co-operative 3D salvo attack of multiple missiles under switching topologies subject to time-varying communication delays

Abstract: This study focuses on the co-operative salvo attack problem of multiple missiles against a stationary target under jointly connected switching topologies subject to time-varying communication delays. By carefully exploring certain features of the typical pure proportional navigation guidance law, a two-stage distributed guidance scheme is proposed without any information on time-to-go in this study to realise the simultaneous attack of multiple missiles. In the first guidance stage, a co-operative guidance law… Show more

“…Following the two‐stage guidance design approach introduced in Section 3.1.2, 3‐D cooperative guidance law against stationary target is developed [8], and convergence analysis considering fixed communication delay is conducted. This result is further extended to 3‐D guidance design for simultaneous attack under jointly connected graphs and uniform time‐varying communication delay in Ai et al [37]. Using the range‐to‐go‐based design approach, the problem of simultaneous attacks against maneuvering targets is further studied under communication delays in Liu et al [38] and under input delays in Li et al [39].…”
