Co‐Cultural Theory

Abstract: This entry provides a detailed description of co‐cultural theory, which represents an insightful lens to understand the communicative experiences of underrepresented group members within societies where they have been traditionally marginalized. More specifically, it features an explanation of the development of the theory, descriptions of key theoretical concepts (i.e., co‐cultural practices, factors, and communication orientations), and a summary of existing co‐cultural theoretical research.
