This paper presents a current-mode (CM) second-order filter, employing one so-called "Z CopyCurrent Differencing Transconductance Amplifier" (ZC-CDTA), two grounded capacitors, and one virtually grounded resistor. The filter provides two current outputs of low-pass (LP) and band-pass (BP) types for driving independent loads, and one high-pass (HP) current output, flowing through one of the working capacitors. Other implementations of various types of transfer functions are proposed by means of commonly used methods of input/output current summing. Their critical analysis is accomplished from the point of view of tracking errors and dynamic range optimization. Results of the PSpice simulation, which utilizes the CDTA model on the level of CMOS transistor structure, are enclosed.

Abstract-The design of current-mode multiphase sinusoidal oscillator (MSO) for biomedical tissue measurement system is presented. The odd phase system can be realised using current controlled current differencing transconductance amplifier (CCCDTA)-based lossy integrators. The condition of oscillation and frequency of oscillation can be controlled electronically and independently through adjusting the current of the CCCDTA. The high output impedances facilitate easy driving an external load without additional current buffers. The proposed MSO provides odd phase signals that are equally spaced in phase and equal amplitude. The circuit requires one CCCDTA and one grounded capacitor per phase without external resistor and additional current amplifier. The results of PSPICE simulations using BJT CCCDTA are included to verify theory.Index Terms-CCCDTA, multiphase sinusoidal oscillator, integrated circuit.

Abstract:The paper considers the problems related to short-channel effects in a current amplifier, when realized in ultra-deep sub-micron technology. A short description of the circuit and a limitation concerning its basic parameters is given at the beginning. Several steps, allowing an approximate design of the circuit, are outlined. They are applied for design of three versions of the amplifier, each of them is realized with FETs having different channel length: 90 nm, 45 nm and 30 nm. Their basic properties are simulated and discussed, demonstrating the major benefit of the shortening of the channel length-extension of the frequency bandwidth. The problems arising with the shorter channels length are also considered briefly.
