The concentration dependence of saturation magnetostriction and saturation polarisation for amorphous Fess-=Pt,Bls (z = 0, 1,3,5) alloys were measured at room temperature. It was found that saturation magnetostriction in the series of glassy alloys increases with increasing Pt content. We suggest that this behaviour is connected with the perturbation of the Fe-B glassy matrix by the Pt atoms. The polarisation versus temperature scans support an exceptional role of Pt in the Fe-Pt-B amorphous alloy, too.
