The aim of this study is to show how Google's business model is concealed within Google Apps for Education (GAFE) as well as how such a bundle is perceived within one educational organisation, consisting of approximately 30 schools. The study consists of two parts: 1) a rhetorical analysis of Google policy documents and 2) an interview study in a Swedish educational organisation. By making an implicit demarcation between the two concepts (your) 'data' and (collected) 'information' Google can disguise the presence of a business model for online marketing and, at the same time, simulate the practices and ethics of a free public service institution. This makes it problematic for Swedish schools to implement Google Apps for Education, bearing in mind Google's surveillance practices for making profits on pupil's algorithmic identities. From a front end viewpoint of Google Apps for Education, the advantages of the services are evident to the users, and emerge in the study, whereas back end strategies are relatively hidden.

The purpose of the study is to test the effectiveness of using the e-environment based on G Suit for Education in organizing distance learning for future social workers in the context of a pandemic. The study uses a set of methods: diagnostic (observation, interviews, questionnaires, testing) – to determine the effectiveness of using cloud resources and services in teaching students; pedagogical experiment for experimental verification of the effectiveness of using cloud resources and services in teaching students in the process of forming professional and communicative readiness of future social workers; methods of mathematical statistics for quantitative and qualitative processing of research results. Cloud resources and services allow activating knowledge, help to find and design new ideas, and help to develop independent decision-making skills. The conclusions of the work can be the basis for the development of an e-environment based on G Suit for Education. Materials and conclusions of the research can be used in the practice of teaching the humanities at university. The scientific novelty of the research is that the study identifies specific cloud services for implementing project activities when teaching students remotely. The stages of project implementation in the e-environment based on G Suit for Education are presented.

This research aimed to investigate the delivery of postgraduate study through incorporation of Google Applications and Skype technologies as collaborative tools. Participants were a cohort of full time working employees from a South African cohort of collaborating universities enrolled in the PostGraduate Diploma in Higher Education course, located in Limpopo and Western Cape provinces. The data was collected through interviews from participants on Skype and Google technologies that include Google drive, Gmail, Google docs, Google spreadsheet, and Google chat. Data was analysed through ethnographic content analysis and conversational analysis. Based on the findings, it was evident that Google applications and Skype technologies support collaborative learning. The study results show that these technologies have an important role in future delivery of academic post graduate programmes in institutions of Higher Learning amongst working employees. This study recommends use of these technologies in scenarios involving multiple institutions across the world. Cloud computing has a pivotal role in enabling online collaborative learning activities and it enhances effective skills development in cases where students cannot afford to attend courses on full time basis due to work commitments or geographical location
