Cloud-Accessible, Programmable Quantum Simulator Based on Two-Dimensional Neutral Atom Arrays

Abstract: Neutral atom arrays recently emerged as one the leading platforms for large-scale quantum computing and simulations [1, 2]. These systems offer a variety of possible qubit encodings with long coherence times along with exceptional programmability and reconfigurability of the array geometry and qubit connectivity. In addition, strong, highly coherent coupling between the qubits can be achieved using Rydberg states of the atoms. QuEra provides a cloud-accessible, programmable 256-qubit quantum simulator based on… Show more

“…Further developing proof of concept devices that use machine learning as a tool to drive quantum matter, being either multi-component gases or Rydberg, would certainly broaden the field; on the other way around, atomtronics-inspired machine learning schemes can find applications in other quantum technologies [381,382]. Finally, quantum technologies on the cloud, such as Infleqtion (ColdQuanta) for cold atoms [384] or QuEra for Rydberg atoms [385], will open new important avenues for the field.…”
