Clostridium

Abstract: Species of the genus Clostridium are Gram‐positive, strictly anaerobic or moderately aerotolerant bacteria, producers of endospores, and unable of dissimilatory sulfate reduction. Clostridia are able to metabolize a variety of substances, and the respective fermentation pathways are diverse.
