Closed-Suction Draining After Revision Hip Arthroplasty Carries Risk of Higher Blood Loss Early After Surgery

Abstract: Researchers report that use of cell salvage during reimplantation in two-stage exchange for chronic hip periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) did not increase the reinfection rate, and significantly reduced the rate of postoperative allogeneic red blood transfusion (ABT) overall.
