Clock Synchronization Algorithm for Pseudolite

Abstract: Abstract.A pseudolite is installed on the ground, which sends the same waves as those from a GPS satellite to enable positioning in locations where it is difficult to receive the waves from GPS satellite, such as between tall buildings, underground, and indoors. The pseudo-range measurement accuracy of pseudolite depends on the performance of clock synchronization between pseudolite and GPS satellites. This paper proposes clock synchronization algorithm for pseudolite. It is a revision and improvement of the t… Show more

“…The study shows the simulation results and suggests the algorithm of reduction of possible measurement errors. Hwang and Yu 11,12 proposed an original algorithm for matching clock scales in a pseudolite network and reducing accuracy errors due to the lack of synchronization of individual pseudolites in the network. So et al 13 analyzed and simulated the influence of the troposphere on the accuracy of pseudolite navigation.…”

“…The DOP shows how the mean square error (MSE) of the consumer’s coordinates are greater than the MSE of the pseudorange between the pseudolite and the consumer. Basic models of distance measuring are based on the methods of gradient analysis, 10–12 in which decomposition of the distance function into the Taylor series by discrepancy δ j , ( j = 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ) can give the following system:…”

“…The simulation was performed and the algorithm of reducing possible measurement errors was proposed. In [10,11] the authors proposed an original algorithm of the coordination of time scales in the network of pseudolites and reducing the errors in accuracy through the lack of synchronization of individual pseudolites in the network. The article [12] analyzed and simulated the impact of troposphere on the accuracy of defining the state vector of the consumer in LRNS.…”

“…Based on the obtained expressions for geometric factors in general case, the assessment of various variants of setting up LRNS by the accuracy is performed by comparing the values of the variables of an error of determining spatial coordinates based on the ratio ( ) 33 , σ = γ + γ + γ (10) where ij γ are the elements of the matrix q . “…10 Whether it is an independent pseudolite system or a system composed of real navigation satellites and pseudolites, the accuracy of time synchronization directly affects the system's performance. 11 At present, the mainstream time synchronization methods include two-way time and frequency transfer 12,13 and GNSS timing receiver for pseudolite timing. 14,15 However, there are few quantitative studies on the time synchronization requirement of pseudolite.…”
