“…Since there might be a potential regional disparity in NSCLC patients with RET fusions like the variance in EGFR mutations, subgroup analysis of demographic features was also conducted among Asians and non-Asians. 27 It was not conducted in histology type and TNM stage on account of limited data of non-Asian group.…”

“…EGFR gene copy number was estimated using an LSI EGFR SpectrumOrange/CEP7 SpectrumGreen probe set (Abbott Molecular) and interpreted according to the University of Colorado Cancer Center system as described previously. 29 Briefly, cases with high polysomy (≥4 copies of the EGFR gene in ≥ 40% of tumor cells) or gene amplification were deemed to be EGFR FISH positive. MET gene copy number was estimated using an LSI MET SpectrumRed/CEP7 SpectrumGreen probe (Abbott Molecular) and interpreted using the above University of Colorado Cancer Center system or Cappuzzo criteria (high MET gene copy number; mean ≥ 5 copies per cell) as described previously.…”

“…Thus, these markers were not considered for the purpose of this study. Similarly, we did not consider EGFR, which has been reported to be mutated in NSCLC, because the prognostic value of EGFR overexpression in untreated NSCLC remains controversial (60,61).…”
