Percentages between 44 and 91 of renal dysfunction have been reported (Papaioannou, et al 2001;Nygaard, et al 2004), while on a geriatric ward in a hospital in 80% of the patients the creatinine clearance was found to be less than 60 ml/min (Martin, et al 2005). As information on renal dysfunction seems relevant for dose adjustments of prescribed medication, a survey on renal function was performed in three representative Dutch nursing homes.…”
