“…The SPQ was correlated positively with NS and negatively with HA as suggested with adult samples previously 6, 74, 5, 7, 8 showed significant differences in NS and HA. In addition, these three SPQ total score groups presented significantly different JTCI dimension profiles replicating earlier studies with adults 12, 13…”

“…Previous studies have examined the clinical 16 and structural validity2, 4, 15 of SPQ and its correlation with physical traits,2, 17 pathophysiological symptoms, 18 and general health status 18 for the concurrent validity. In addition, the temperament of Sasang typology measured with SPQ was consistently shown to have the following order (from lowest to highest): SE < TE < SY 2, 4, 15, 16, 17.…”

“…This dimension can be linked to a dimension of inhibition–excitation, which is a fundamental mechanism working at the neuron level in the human nervous system that allows psychological processes to function in either a complementary or a competitive manner 37 . Coupled with evolution theory, this biological dimension can also be linked to behavioral aspects, such as the fight–flight dimension, as the chosen behavior is determined by the individual's attitude toward the outer world 38 . When these psychological–biological–behavioral dimensions are bound together, it may be said that inward-oriented, inhibition-oriented, and avoidant behavioral patterns are placed at the point of one extreme, and outward-oriented, excitation-oriented, and approaching behavioral patterns are placed at the opposite extreme.…”
