“…The delay in the eggs reappearance time as was observed with IVM injected IM could provide a therapeutic advantage in comparison with the oral route in the control of parasites in horses. Decreased anthelmintic use is likely to be more cost effective and less likely to promote the development of anthelmintic‐resistant parasite populations (Di Pietro et al., 1997). Among the factors contributing to resistance, frequent dosing is the most important and depending on the genetic basis of resistance, under‐dosing may be an important contributory factor.…”
