Abstract

The authors of this book are radiologists who have had extensive experience with the ear, nose, and throat region. Because this book is a survey of the radiologic problems encountered in otolaryngology, the subjects are not covered in depth. This would be impossible in a book of 262 pages. Contrast laryngography is treated superficially, examination of the eustachian tube is mentioned, and evaluation of the mandibular joint is not discussed a t all.The material is divided into three basic sections covering the paranasal sinuses, the temporal bone, and the pharynx and larynx. Techniques and procedures are described from the point of view of the radiologist. The text is adequately illustrated, but the quality of the engravings is not as good as in some other recent books on the subject. Each of the major sections is subdivided into discussions of the radiologic examination, the radiologic pathology, and the common lesions of that anatomic area.
