50th years anniversary of EFSUMB: Initial roots, maturation, and new shoots

“…Nevertheless, its strong and unifying vision and mission at the foundation in Bologna helped EFSUMB in the following years, to successfully develop into a powerful international professional society, with financially successful EUROSON congresses (from 1999 always together with annual congresses of national societies) and the founding of the EUROSON Schools (1992) 1 3 . Starting with the first clinical practice guidelines on contrast-enhanced ultrasound in 2004 4 , high-quality guidelines together with continuous medical education have become globally recognized trademarks of EFSUMB 5 .
