Abstract: Prednisone and prednisolone are used in a wide variety of diseases. The two compounds are metabolically interconvertible; prednisolone is assumed to be the pharmacologically active species.Prednisone and prednisolone plasma concentrations are commonly determined by either radioimmunoassay or competitive protein binding techniques.
