Clinical nurse to nurse manager

Abstract

Nursing is notorious for heavy reliance on on-the-job training to transition a clinical nurse into a nurse manager (NM). Leadership and management training, when available, may remain unattended by novice NMs due to increasing operational demands. This article describes a framework to support initial and continued NM professional development.
